Novus Has a New MDI Delivery Device – Would You Try It?

What is a metered-dose inhaler (MDI)? Learn all about it here!

We are grateful to have so many experts dedicated to developing new technology in healthcare. Every day, science is expanding on their knowledge to improve our quality of life and even lengthen our lives. One of those companies that seek to make better products and ease of use is Novus. They are one of our favorite developers and have just begun a new MDI delivery service.

What is an MDI?

An MDI is a metered-dose inhaler. As you may know, it is for individuals who have asthma. It simplifies medical administration without having to look at the exact dosage. It’s especially great for kids to be able to administer it on their own whether at school or a friend’s house. However, it’s incredibly important that you and your child be taught by a medical professional. This should be reviewed routinely in order to be sure your child is utilizing best practices.

They are originally made with a medical canister with a plastic sleeve. Basic MDIs like this can work, but they do leave some room for error and improper use. This is where improvements to the delivery system can make a significant difference in getting the proper dosage.

Novus’s New Technology

Novus has a new holding chamber called the LiteAire® spacer. It has a double valve design that will work with most MDIs. It’s collapsible and easy to take everywhere. It works efficiently, whereas previous delivery models typically only dispense 80 percent of the medication needed per dose.

Unlike the normal plastic sleeves, it’s made of paper. This means it’s not only good for your health but also for the environment. They can be stored in large quantities at healthcare facilities, schools and in first aid kits. They’ve proven to be just as effective as their former counterparts. They are reusable for each individual. As you may realize, paper will be less expensive than plastic. This means you can count on a significantly lesser cost if you are buying in bulk. Does this seem like a good choice for you or your healthcare facility?
