Earlier this year, Phillips Respironics ordered a recall on many different CPAP machines. Since this recall was ordered, there are many people that may not know for sure if their machine is part of that recall. Knowing you have a recalled machine can be difficult, so continue to read to find out how you can check if yours is and what to do next.
Locate the Serial Number on Your Device
There will be a label on the bottom of your device. Locate that and on that label, there will be a series of numbers that follow a SN or S/N pattern. These are the numbers you will be needing to find out if the CPAP device that you are using is part of the Phillips recall.
Complete the Registration
After you have located the serial number, you can then visit the Phillips Respironics Recall Website. Here, you will fill out the registration form. You will need to fill out information such as your name, address and phone number so Phillips Respironics can contact you regarding the recall. Make sure that you are using your most updated information - no matter what information you put when you first got your device.
Wait for Confirmation
Once you have completed your registration, if your device was not part of the recall, then you will see a message on your screen saying that your device is not included. However, if your device is part of the recall, you will get a confirmation number as well as any important information regarding the recall from Phillips Respironics. You want to save this number for your records so you have it when you need it again. Finally, along with the confirmation number, you will receive information on how to proceed.
Just by taking these few simple steps, you will be able to know whether or not the machine you are using for your sleep apnea has been recalled.
